Water Buffalo – Bubalus bubalis Native to southern Asia, but are bred in more areas to use as work animals and for meat. Though most Americans refer to Bison, and Buffalo as the same animal- they are in fact, not. Average lifespan is about 15-20 years.

Watusi Large horned, bovine animal native to Africa. The horns can grow to be longer than 6 ft long. The circumference of the horns is what sets them apart from other long horned cattle like Texas Longhorns. Bulls can weigh up to about 1600 lbs. Lifespan is about 20 years.

White Rhinoceros – Ceratotherium simum Native to southern Africa, an endangered species. They can grow to be 11-14 ft long, stand 5-6 ft tall at the shoulders, and weight range from 3,100-7,900 lbs. Wildebeest – Connochaetes taurinus Wildebeest in Dutch, means Wild Beast. Also referred to as “Gnu”, they are native to the plains of Africa. Yak – Bos grunniens A long haired bovine, found throughout the Himalayan region of south Central Asia. Wild yaks can be very large in size, weighing up to 2000 lbs. Domesticated yaks are much smaller, only weighing 1200 lbs when mature. Average lifespan is about 20 years.

Yellow Golden Pheasants – Chrysolophus pictus Also referred to as the Chinese Pheasant, is a popular game bird. Will lay up to 8-12 eggs at a time that take about 22-23 days to hatch. Golden Pheasants come in a variety of colors, yellow, red, cinnamon, salmon, etc..

Zebu – Bos indicus The Zebu at our park are Miniature. Like all “Miniature” stock, there is a maximum height associated with them, 42 inches. Zebu cattle in general stands out due to the hump in their back, behind their shoulder blades. Average lifespan is about 15-20 years.

Zedonks – Equus Domestica A cross between a Zebra, and a Donkey. Just like mules, and ligers, they are completely sterile and unable to reproduce. Have the body of a donkey, with faint stripes, and the legs of a zebra. Average lifespan is about 20 years.
